iPhone 18 Pro Leaks: Smaller Dynamic Island, Variable Aperture Camera, A20 Chip & More! (2026) (2026)

Apple's iPhone 18 Pro is shaping up to be a powerhouse, with leaks revealing a host of exciting upgrades. But here's the twist: these features might just be the tip of the iceberg, leaving fans eager for more.

The latest leak suggests that the iPhone 18 Pro will sport a smaller Dynamic Island, a variable aperture camera, and a powerful A20 Pro chip. This chip, built on TSMC's cutting-edge 2nm process, promises a 15% performance boost and a 30% efficiency gain over its predecessor, the A19 Pro. But here's where it gets controversial: will this be enough to satisfy power users?

The iPhone 18 Pro Max is rumored to be a beast in terms of battery life, potentially packing a massive 5,200mAh battery, making it the heaviest iPhone yet. This could be a game-changer for users who demand extended usage, but it might also spark debates about device weight and ergonomics.

Jeff Pu, a GF Securities analyst, has spilled the beans on several other features. The iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to feature an N2 chip, an upgrade from the N1 chip introduced with the iPhone 17, which managed Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread radios. However, the specific improvements the N2 chip will bring remain a mystery.

Another notable upgrade is the C2 modem, which could offer enhanced power efficiency. This is a significant move away from the Qualcomm Snapdragon series modem used in the iPhone 17 Pro lineup. And this is the part most people miss: will Apple's self-designed modem outperform its competitors?

The iPhone 18 Pro's camera system is also getting an overhaul, with a 48MP Fusion camera featuring a variable aperture setup. This innovation allows users to manually control the amount of light entering the lens, enabling creative control over depth of field.

Display-wise, the Pro model is rumored to have a 6.3-inch screen, while the Pro Max might sport a 6.9-inch display. Both models are expected to feature a 24MP front camera, a significant upgrade from the current 18MP, and possibly an under-display Face ID with a single hole-punch camera.

Pricing is expected to start at around $1,099 for the Pro model and $1,199 for the Pro Max, with a launch timeline set for September 2026.

What do you think about these potential upgrades? Are you excited about the iPhone 18 Pro's prospects, or do you have reservations about any of these features? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
